We constantly monitor the activity of your e-mail. We'll spot attacks, SPAM, virus, phishing atttempts, etc. monitor them to be sure they don't get in, and report them to various organizations so that people around the world know what to block. All you'll see is the results of what's been blocked in the Web Reporter. By cooperating with so many different groups and organizations we are able to provide updates to your security as other networks are attacked.
Many other products or services rely on you and your employees to tell the system what is SPAM and what is not (also known as HAM). We take care of that for you. Others also say that a SPAM filter should just delete the message if it's positively identified as SPAM. We reject the message back to the sender. This way if we inadvertently flag a message as SPAM the sender will know. Typically if it's from someone legitimate, they'll phone you. Then you notify us and we'll add them to your whitelist. If The Box were configured to just drop the message, the recipient would never know you didn't get their message.
The SPAMMERs are constantly changes their tactics. Without someone monitoring and managing your e-mail defense, you would definitely start to receive more SPAM. This could lead to someone in your office falling victim to an e-mail sent that entices them to follow a link or open an attachment, thus infecting your network.
We only let in what is absolutely necessary. That's it.

The Deadly Duo: SPAM and Viruses, May 2006
More often than not, SPAM contains either a virus or a link to a website that will try to infect your systems. Sometime in early 2005, it was noted that SPAMMERs and cyber-criminals were working together to achieve their goals. SPAMMERs know how to write emails that lure people into action and they have huge lists of email addresses. Cyber-criminals know how to write malware that slips past most anti-virus products. It's a match made in heaven - for them.
Report: SPAM Accounts for Most E-Mail Traffic
SPAMMERs typically use some commonly announced event to lure users to take action. Prior to the World Cup, many users received emails announcing free tickets. Others received email messages offering to verify their Veterans details to see if their data was on the stolen laptop. They have many methods. You need to block SPAM and restrict the types of attachments allowed into your network.
